Why you should switch you personal care products

Is your diet impeccable but your gut health still hasn’t improved? Are you not sure what to try next?

You should look into swapping over your personal care products! We are often so conscious about what we eat but don’t think twice about the toxins that we absorb through our skin!

What exactly is in your skincare? With our skin being our largest organ we have to be careful what we put on our skin because it gets directly absorbed into our bodies. Did you know the EU bans over 1500 ingredients from being put into personal care products, while the US only bans 30??? Beautycounter has a list of over 1500 ingredients that we NEVER use in our products.

Some of the main things to avoid in personal care products are:

🚫Parabens- mimic estrogen and cause disruptions of hormone production.
🚫Phthlates- endocrine disrupters that had been known to cause birth defects.
🚫Synthetic fragrance- can be up to 3000 chemicals that do not need to be disclosed and can include known allergens or hormone disrupters.
🚫Formaldehyde- a known carcinogen linked to asthma and other autoimmune conditions.

Not sure how to figure out if these known toxins are in your personal care products?

I like to fully research all of my personal care products before purchasing them! Skin Deep has a comprehensive website of products and ingredients so you can do the research yourself!

Or when in doubt- use beautycounter. Seriously, they are one of the few companies that I 100% trust because they are completely transparent about their ingredients and do batch testing on all of their individual ingredients for heavy metals.
